David is a Chartered Building Surveyor with some 34 years’ experience, having worked for the majority of his professional career for national surveying practices based in their Birmingham office, most recently for Atisreal (now BNP Paribas Real Estate).

In December 2008 David left Atisreal and jointly set up Solace Building Consultancy with Paul Heald. With former general practice work colleagues, Peter Fletcher and Simon Russell, joining the business in 2011 and 2012 respectively. Building Consultancy rebranded as Solace Property Consultancy in July 2015 reflecting the expanded service offering. Peter and Simon both working as consultants.

David is experienced in undertaking commercial acquisition surveys on both large portfolios and single properties for a range of investors, asset managers and owner/occupiers. David also has extensive experience in acting on behalf of both Landlords and tenants in preparing and defending dilapidations claims. This involving the procurement of specification documentation and tendering of works, together with contract administration of the same in support/defence of the Landlord’s dilapidations claim.

Working in a smaller niche practice enables David to provide a more client focussed/personalised service to clients.
